SOUTH BEND, Ind. – On September 29, 2014, United Way of St. Joseph County will proudly welcome Matt Harrington as its new President & CEO.  Interim President and CEO, Alfred Guillaume, Jr., will aid in onboarding before returning to retirement shortly after that time.

Over the last eight years, Matt Harrington has made a significant impact on the local community through his service as Vice President of Organizational Advancement at LOGAN Community Resources, where he worked to advance the mission of LOGAN through fundraising development, marketing, strategic partnerships, and all Employment Service programs including LOGAN Industries and Community Employment.

In addition to many other noteworthy achievements, most recently, Matt served as Chapter President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2012 and graduated from the University of Notre Dame Executive Fund Development Leadership Program in 2013.

“We are confident that Matt will lead the United Way, with its partner agencies, to new levels of success.  His passion for our community, experience in management, and understanding of collective impact will be vital in addressing the most pressing social needs in St. Joseph County,” said Chris Strafford, Executive Chair on United Way of St. Joseph County’s Board of Directors.

As the United Way of St. Joseph County embarks on the journey to reduce poverty by 25,000 individuals by 2025 and celebrates their 100th Anniversary, the timing of Matt’s recruitment was critical." I have been fortunate to have had such a rewarding career that has positively impacted many members of our community,” said Matt Harrington.  "I am honored to join the United Way team and be a part of the exciting work ahead of us."

United Way of St. Joseph County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating long-lasting change and meeting the needs of the community by ensuring that all residents have access to the building blocks to a better life.
