NOTRE DAME PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAM AND UNITED WAY TO COLLECT FOOD FOR LOCAL PANTRIES
Students enrolled in the University of Notre Dame’s Pre-College program will be collecting non-perishable food items at Martin’s Super Market located in Heritage Square on Saturday, July 20th from 10:00AM to 3:30PM. All food items collected will be taken to Mishawaka Food Pantry, where items will be dispersed to 17 local pantries.
This will be the second food drive held by the University of Notre Dame’s Pre-College program. The first drive, held on June 29th, collected 1,290 pounds of non-perishable food which will be distributed to the People Gotta Eat food pantries.
United Way of St. Joseph County’s initiative, People Gotta Eat, is an effort to help those in our community without the means to eat or to secure adequate food for their families. United Way of St. Joseph County works with 17 area food pantries to raise money to keep the pantries stocked and to develop a cohesive plan to effectively address systemic food distribution in our community.
