BORN LEARNING TRAILS INSTALLED IN TWO SOUTH BEND PARKS

United Way of St. Joseph County, with the support of the PNC Foundation’s Grow Up Great grant and South Bend Venues Parks & Arts, is excited for the installation of Born Learning Trails at LaSalle Park and Pinhook Park in South Bend. PNC Bank is dedicated to the success of early learning through their program Grow Up Great, a bilingual initiative to prepare children from birth to age five for success in school and life. With their support, these new family oriented trails have been made possible. Born Learning Trails is a ten part interactive trail guide that offers fun, active learning activities for young children and their families. This opportunity allows families to enjoy the trail and park while engaging and exploring the world around them, and in turn helping prepare young children for success in the classroom.

.

Thanks to PNC members who assisted with the installation by painting the stencils for different trail stops, the trails will be ready on Monday, September 23rd and the public is invited to join community members for a ribbon cutting ceremony at LaSalle Park at 3:00PM to celebrate. Stop by to see the new and exciting changes with the parks and enjoy the interactive trail with your family!
