ST. JOSEPH COUNTY—United Way of St. Joseph County awards $200,000, across 19 local nonprofits, for youth-centered summer programming and direct family supports.

Hello Summer, is a collaborative summer initiative between United Way of St. Joseph County (UWSJC) and South Bend Venues Parks and Arts (SBVPA)—meant to be a “one-stop-shop” for families in search of summer activities. The goal of the summer program is to help children recover emotionally, socially and academically from the stress and deficits of the past year, ensuring every opportunity to gain ground and be ready to jump back into the next school year with increased energy and preparedness.

The grant was opened to local youth-serving organizations in order to support children, parents, and neighborhoods through academic, recreational, instructional, social and emotional wellbeing. The funds for the Hello Summer grant were issued as a continuation of UWSJC’s COVID response effort for the county. The following partners have been awarded Hello Summer grants:
