United Way of St. Joseph County Announces Leadership Transition

United Way of St. Joseph County (UWSJC) announced President and CEO Mark P. Herriman will depart the organization to pursue other career opportunities. Mr. Herriman and UWSJC’s board have agreed to a collaborative phased transition of duties beginning in March and continuing until a new leadership plan is finalized.

Kimberly Green Reeves, UWSJC board chair, said the board has engaged stakeholders, community partners, and peer Indiana United Ways as part of an ongoing effort to refocus the organization’s strategic direction. Green said,” We appreciate these meaningful conversations with our community champions, and our board will be considering their input in the coming months as we solidify UWSJC’s path forward. We received important feedback about the future of OneRoof centers, workplace giving strategies, and budget sustainability. As we undertake a strategic refocusing, UWSJC remains committed to delivering impactful programs that meet critical community needs, including Team HEAT financial assistance, K-Camps kindergarten readiness camps, and the People Gotta Eat pantry alliance. Our board also understands the importance of making a plan for continuing the successful services at the OneRoof Southeast neighborhood center.

Herriman was named president and CEO of United Way of St. Joseph County in June 2025. He had previously served as UWSJC’s chief operating officer from 2024-2025 and executive vice president from 2022-2024. Before joining the executive team, Herriman was a member of the agency’s board of directors from 2017 to 2022, serving as chair of the board from 2019-2021.
